Another old one. I submitted it to Clarkeworld, and got binned.

I ran it past Critters. Some mixed responses. Some people really liked it, they ‘got it’. Lots of people hated it, and didn’t really know what it was about. Still, somewhat encouraging.

I submitted it to … Strange Horizons? … it was a while back, I can’t really remember. Anyway it got rejected :-/ I think it’s an interesting story though.

Toby duplicates himself, with adverse consequencees for his life.

Influences: “My Other Life”, by Chuck Rothman; and “Anachron“, by Damon Knight.

This is the first of my short stories that my girlfriend thinks is well written.
